Long Reach Swim Club is about to start our 16-17 season.  Some important info for parents/athletes.

The parent meeting will be held on Monday, September 19th.....time to be announced soon!!!

Swim Practice will start the week of September 26th.

The practice times for LRSC during the 2016-2017 winter season are as follows;

A Practice Monday/Friday 3:00pm-4:15pm Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 3:00pm-4:30pm

B Practice Monday/Friday 4:15pm-5:15pm Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 6:00pm-7:00pm

C Practice Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 4:30-5:15pm

D Practice Tuesday/Thursday 5:15pm-6:00pm

We recently had 6 girls travel to Indiana to compete at the 2016 YMCA Long Course National Championship!
We had some great swims, and some new team and state records!!

200 Meter Freestyle Relay which consisted of Caitlin Tycz, Sophia Kruze, Margie McLeod, and Ann Tolan placed 16th with a time of 1:50.72.
Their morning swim of 1:49.49 was a new Team and State Record.  Also, Ann Tolan's lead off split was a new Team and State Record with a time of 26.87.
400 Meter Freestyle Relay which consisted of Caitlin Tycz, Ann Tolan, Olivia Harper, and Margie McLeod swam a time of 4:08.80 placing them 20th.
800 Meter Freestyle Relay which had Olivia Harper, Sophia Kruze, Margie McLeod, and Hailey Harper swam a time of 9:47.60 which is a new YMCA Senior State Record.
200 Meter Medley Relay which had Olivia Harper, Hailey Harper, Caitlin Tycz, and Ann Tolan swam a time of 2:04.02 placing them 23rd.
400 Meter Medley Relay which had the same four girls swim, swam a time of 4:38.32 earning them the 31st spot.

We had some great individual swims as well. 
Ann Tolan competed in the 100 fly swimming a time of 1:08.72 placing her 105th.  Her 50 fly time was a 29.48 placing her 28th.  She swam the 50 free in 27.03 earning her 9th place, 
and her swim in the 100 Meter free was a time of 59.87 placing her 27th.
Caitlin Tycz swam the 100 Meter fly in a time of 1:01.55 earning her 2nd place, her 50 fly was a 28.27 earning her 5th place.  Her swim in the 200 Meter Fly was a new State and Team 
record with a time of 2:18.31 placeing her 7th place.  Her other swim was the 200 Freestyle where she swam a time of 2:10.60 placing her 10th.

As a whole we had some great national recognition and some great swims.  Our coach Jay Morissette was selected to hand out the 100 Meter Freestyle awards.  It was a tremendous honor 
for him and our team/YMCA.  We are happy he put his time in!!!

Winter swim season is right around the corner, so start making plans and we will see you in September.

Congratulations to the LRSC swimmers who traveled up to St. John Canada to participate in the MSI International Invitational
Long Reach walked away with a win accumulating 3526 points.  The second place finisher had 2084 points.  We won the boys, girls
and combined meet.  We had lots of team and a few state records.  Great job LRSC!!
